Frequently asked questions

Should I refrigerate the cookie dough before baking ?

It is recommended to refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking to allow the flavors to develop and to prevent the cookies from spreading too much when baked.

How can I achieve soft cookies instead of crispy ones ?

For soft cookies, use more butter (or replace it with melted butter), slightly decrease the baking time, and don't flatten each portion too much on the baking sheet. This will help keep the interior tender while achieving a nice golden texture on the outside.

Can I freeze my uncooked cookie dough for later use ?

Yes, you can prepare your chocolate chip cookie dough and freeze it in individual portions for later use. Just thaw them in the refrigerator before baking.

Should I use chocolate chips or can I chop my own chocolate ?

You can use either ready-to-use chocolate chips or chop your own chocolate bar according to your preferences in terms of size and intensity of the chocolate pieces.

Can I add nuts or other dried fruits to my cookie recipe ?

Of course! You can add chopped nuts, such as pecans or hazelnuts, as well as dried fruits like raisins or cranberries to add crunch and texture to your cookies.
